Sponsoring Your Loved Ones to Canada
Canada offers the opportunity to sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, or dependent children for permanent residence. If you’re looking to reunite with your loved ones, Perk Immigration is here to guide you through the process.
How to Apply to Sponsor Your Family Members
To sponsor your spouse, partner, or child, you need to complete two applications:
- Sponsor Application: You must apply to become a sponsor.
- Permanent Residence Application: Your spouse, partner, or child must apply for permanent residence.
Eligibility Requirements to Sponsor
To be eligible to sponsor, you must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Age: You must be at least 18 years old.
Status in Canada: You must be:
- A Canadian citizen.
- A permanent resident of Canada.
- A person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
If you’re a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you must show that you intend to live in Canada once the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident.
You cannot sponsor someone if you are a permanent resident living outside Canada.
Financial Support: You must be able to prove that you are not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability and that you can provide for the basic needs of those you wish to sponsor.
